Best poppy seed roll in the valley. Literally, loaded with real blue poppy seed. The nut roll is awesome too.

I am 55 years old and I grew up eating the poppy seed roll and the nut roll and they make the best there are, anywheres! I judge any others that I may try against Buttonwood’s and have never found another that even came close. I swear this before God, Amen.

I grew up in Mocanaqua and have always loved the Buttonwood Bakery poppy seed roll. I don’t live in the area anymore and I’ve had others when I couldn’t get it from Buttonwood and have always been disappointed. Buttonwood’s is the best! Always moist and has a thick poppy seed filling – no skimping like others!

It just isn’t Easter without your nut and poppy seed rolls. Can’t find them in my area…

I grew up in Hanover Twp and have wonderful memories of many a Sunday afternoon with my grandparents from Plymouth visiting Buttonwood Bakery. I miss the breads, muffins, cookies, and Danishes, but most especially were the poppyseed and nut rolls. The rolls were special treats for family gatherings at Christmas and Easter. I have stopped when in town to visit, and was saddened when the storefront was damaged and forced to close. I can’t wait to get back there for the holidays for poppy and nut rolls that no other bakery comes close to!
